Anonymous asked: You say to never root for a creative work to fail. But considering that Fox may very well turn a profit and hold on to the Fantastic Four rights when you only make a small cut of the profits, why should we root for the upcoming movie?
Are you going to go see the movie? (Yes.) Are you going to pay the, what, $12.50 at the Box Office to get in? (Yes.) Then why wouldn’t you want it to be good? The movie could be an enormous bomb and Fox will still have the rights to do more, and may hold on to them. So especially at your level as an individual fan, why would you not want the thing to be good? Surely, more good super hero movies in the world is a better thing than more crappy ones—we have far too many of those already.
Listen to Tom.
Normally I agree with Tom, but our opinions couldn’t be more different.
I want this thing to drown in a whirlpool of molten failure. I want headlines about Fox taking a huge financial loss on this shitstorm of a movie they made just so they could keep the rights to the franchise.
And I want a pony.
